JNU BA (Hons) Admission 2019

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has 10 Schools and four special centres which offer Undergraduate (BA Hons.), PG (MA, M.Sc, MCA) and several integrated research courses.

The university offers only one UG programme i.e. Bachelor of Arts (regular and lateral entry mode) in several languages including German, French, Spanish etc. Selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, conducted by the university. Candidates can register themselves by submitting the application fee of Rs. 300/- through online payment modes or offline method i.e. demand draft (DD)

  1. Candidates seeking admission in BA Hons. (first year) will get admission on the basis of their performance in entrance examination which will be conducted by the university itself.

For getting admission in BA (Lateral Entry), candidates have to appear in both entrance examination and viva-voce, out of which, 70% weightage is given to the entrance examination and 30% to the viva-voce, both being organized by the university itself.

MGU Kerala Ph.D Admissions 2019

Mahatma Gandhi University, popularly known as MG University, is a UGC approved university which has grown to be amongst the top universities in India. It offers 300 academic programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate level all over India.

MG University provides Ph.D. in various disciplines and can be done in three ways:

  • Full time
  • Part time (internal/external)

Admissions of candidates in these programmes will be done on the basis of qualifying examination merit as well as their performance in written aptitude test (WAT) and interview.

Students who satisfy the eligibility criteria and wish to apply for the Ph.D. programme can register themselves by submitting duly filled-in applications along with the registration fee through the official website.

Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D. (Development Studies) , Ph.D. (Gandhian Studies) & Ph.D.

For admissions to the Ph.D. programmes, one should qualify the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates should possess a Post graduate degree in any discipline from MG University or any other university which is considered as equivalent by MGU, with a minimum of 55% aggregate. For SC/ST candidates, one should have a minimum of 50% in PG degree
  • Candidates awaiting the results of PG degree can also apply for the programme
  • Candidates with MBBS/ BAHMS/ BHMS /BDS degree should have a minimum of 50% aggregate.
  • CA and ACS candidates can also apply, provided their name has been entered in the Register as members maintained by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.

How to Apply

Ph.D. (Development Studies) , Ph.D. (Gandhian Studies) & Ph.D.

Candidates can download the application form available at the university website and fill the relevant details. Upon completion, candidates should send the applications to the university along with the following documents :

  • Attested copy PG degree mark sheet and certificate
  • Attested copy of T.C from the institution where the candidates last studied.
  • Attested copy of the M.Phil. degree certificate (if applicable)
  • Attested copy of the following certificates – JRF/NET/SLET / GATE/GPAT/KSCSTINPIRE/MANF/RGNF etc.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer (if applicable)
  • Agreement letter from the Heard of the Research Centre
  • Letter of consent showing vacancy position of the supervising teacher
  • Caste certificates of SC/ST (if applicable)
  • Eligibility certificate of M.Phil/PG degree holders if done from any other university.
  • Scorecard copy of WAT (if appeared)
  • A total of three copies of the Research proposal in the following format from the Research Centre :
  1. On the front page these details should be there with a heading of Research Proposal -Title of Research work, Research area, discipline, Name and address of the candidate, supervising teacher and research centre.
  2. Then candidates should give introduction including the related studies.
  3. Candidates should provide, Importance of the work.
  4. Objectives of the study
  5. Methods and design of work (methodology)
  6. Work schedule (year wise)
  7. Bibliography
  8. Research proposal should be signed by the Research Guide at the first and the last page respectively. Also total number of pages should not exceed 5.

Candidates also have to pay the Registration fee of INR 1025, INR 775 in case of SC/ST students, payable at MG University Cash Counter/ Janasevana Kedram /SBT branches through MG University pay-in slip.

Candidates can also send the form along with the documents by attaching a challan of receipt. THERE IS NO ONLINE MODE OF PAYMENT. DD IS ALSO NOT ACCEPTED.

MGU Kerala M.Phil. Admissions 2019

Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala is a UGC approved university which offers 300 academic programmes at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and research level all over India. It provides M.Phil. Calicut University Ph.D. Admissions 2019

University of Calicut offers 24 undergraduate and 22 postgraduate programs. In addition to it, Calicut University also offers full time and part time Ph.D. programs. There are 28 postgraduate teaching and research departments at the university. For admission to either of the research programs offered by the university, one must have had obtained a master’s degree in the same or related field of research. Application forms for Ph.D. program are available online on the official university website. Moreover, the university also offers education through distance learning mode via School of distance education, Calicut University.

Admission to Ph.D. is based on an entrance examination conducted by the University Department and the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Candidates who clear the entrance exam will then be called for an interview at the university. The final Admission decision will be a resultant of all the three factors taken together.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. programs:

You should have passed Master Degree Examination or a professional degree recognized as equivalent by University of Calicut with at least grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) or at least 55% marks in aggregate in the mark system or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution.

Candidates who have passed M.Phil. degree with a minimum of grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent are eligible to do research work leading to the Ph.D. degree.

Calicut University PG Admissions 2019

University of Calicut offers 24 undergraduate 22 postgraduate programmes. It also offers full time and part time M.Phil. & research programmes. There are 28 postgraduate teaching and research departments.

Admission to the PG Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including PG programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be conducted through Centralized Admission Process (PG CAP).

Eligibility Criteria:

MA (Other language): 45% in Part II Languages concerned of BA/BSc or 45% in the language main papers in the case of candidates with concerned languages under Part III Patern I or 45% in language main papers in the case of candidates with the concerned language under Part III Pattern II.  A weightage of 5% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken concerned language under Part III.

 Non English candidates applying for MA English, admission will be based on Entrance Test.

MA (other non language): Minimum marks prescribed for admission to other non language subjects is 45% in Part III Optional subjects of BA/B.Sc.

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

You must have 45% marks in Part I English of BA/BSc Examination or 45% marks in English Main papers in the case of candidates with English under Part III Pattern I or 45% marks in English main papers in the case of candidates with English under Part III and II. Candidates will be ranked according to the percentage of marks in part I English or Part III in the case of those who have taken English under Part III whichever is higher.A weightage of 10% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken English under Part III.

Master of Arts [MA] (Economics)

You must have 45% marks in BA Economics,Foreign Trade, Development Economics or 70% marks in B.Sc Statistics, Mathematics. A maximum of 30% of the total seats only will be given to the B.Sc candidates.
